Update for PowerPoint for Macintosh?

I noticed that on my Microsoft Windows OS computers that Microsoft released an security update for PowerPoint on Tuesday May 12, 2009 but I don't see that for the Macintosh side. Does anyone know when will Microsoft release the security update for PowerPoint for Macintosh for all versions affected by the PowerPoint security issue MS09-017:

Nobody here has any more idea of what is to come or when than you do. If
it's of major concern I'd suggest you set AutoUpdate to run automatically on
a daily basis so you'll be among the first to receive it as soon as it's
available.

The Windows version of Office and
the Mac version of Office require very different
updates - they are not done in parallel. The Mac is
a substantially different operating system platform
from Windows, so whatever security issues arise
on either Windows or Mac may not necessarily
have any impact on the other.

That's why you aren't seeing the same updates
on the Mac as you are for Windows. It should be
nothing to worry about.

In this case, the issue affects both Windows and Mac PPT versions:

Microsoft Office 2004 for Mac
Microsoft Office 2008 for Mac
Open XML File Format Converter for Mac

Given the size of the respective populations, even if they're equally
vulnerable, Windows systems would seem to be a much likelier target of
opportunity for the Bad Guys.

The Mac update for MS09-017 is still in development. I agree with CyberTaz: set AutoUpdate to run daily.

I my opinion we are both targeted the same way in the bad guy's eyes since this vulnerability affects both Windows and Macintosh so they will target this security bug more since they will have a wider audience to spread their malware. In fact any cross platform issue will be a bigger target for malware writers since the can get a bigger bang for the buck.
Nevertheless, we all to wait for Microsoft to release this patch for MS09-017 which I wish soon.
