Update form fields without losing existing data

Mick

I have a bunch of MS Word forms (about 200) made from a template with
several fields (text, checkbox, and dropdown). I need to update some of
the dropdown fields to include additional values.

If I unlock the form, add the new value, then lock the form, all of the
data in the text fields reverts back to the default text.

Anybody know of a way that I can update my dropdown fields without
losing my data?

Thanks,
Mick

As far as I know, you're out of luck with the forms that have already
been filled in. (of course, if they've been filled out, then it
shouldn't matter - correct?) But, you should be able to modify the
template to allow for more options on all forms from this point
forward.

Go to File-New. This will allow you to select a template to modify.
Under create-new be sure that the template option is selected. Make
your changes and then save the template.
