update from Office 98 to newer version?

Hi there!

How do I update my microsoft Office 98 to a newer version? I have a
office 2000 CD, which I received years ago, but I cant get it to work.
Can I update over the internet on Microsoft homepage - and WHERE?

You will need to purchase Office 2004 for the MAC

Hi Louisa,

The latest version that runs in OS9 (or in classic) is Office 2001. You
can probably find that on eBay or in stores that specialize in close-out
merchandise.

The current Office version is Office 2004, which requires OSX.

Louisa,

Office 2000 is NOT a Macintosh application. It runs only on Windows
machine.

If you are running OS X on your Mac, the current version is Word 2004. If
you are on Mac OS 9.x, you can run Office 2001. If you are on an earlier
version of the Mac OS, then just keep using the Office 98 you already have.

You cannot upgrade over the Internet.
