Update installation for Office2000 failed

Download went fine, but failed to install. Received this message:

"Installation Unsuccessful:
PowerPoint 2000 (KB916520)
Word 2000 (KB917345)"

Tried multiple times and it never went as far as to even ask for my CD.

I have the same problem.

None of the Office updates, including the Outlook email junk filter update
will install; I just get a "failed" message.

The update history status says:
Error Code: 0x80070643 for all Office updates since April 2006.

Any help?

KB916521 Junk Update Office 2003 -A SOLUTION

Problem is destructin of registry keys CAUSED BY running MICROSOFT LIVE
SAFETY CENTER REGISTRY CLEANER!!
Restore them with a double click on the .reg backup file in C:\Documents and
Settings\<user>\Applicaion Data\Windows Live Safety Center\Backup.
