Update multiple documents from one.

I hope I can phrase this correctly...

I have 9 documents all have the same first section, I'd like for the
subsequent documents to be updated from the first document. I tried doing the
{inserttext "dir:\\pathname" bookmark}, scenario but I always get a error
message saying the file is not found.

I need these to be distributed documents, is there anything that I need to
be aware for to make this happen.

The users take these "templates" and use them accordingly then "save as",
will this affect what I want to accomplish?

Well, the currently supported field name is IncludeText, InsertText comes for
the old Word 2.0 days. Beyond that, it would help if you showed a more exact
example of the type of file path...
