Update Needed View

Is there a view/report on the PWA that shows me what resources have/have not
updated tasks? I am looking for one single view for all my resources. If
there is not a view already, what table(s) would I look at to build my own
report?

Hi Dale,

No, that view requires of my Project Manager to select the individuals
in question. Which, assumes they know all the names to select. And, when
they do select them, they have to figure out manually if somebody should have
updated or not.

My goal is to have a report that simply says who actually updated tasks
within a date range and then we can figure out who should have but didn't.
Does that make sense what I am trying to get at?

Yes, that makes sense. And no, there is no easy default way to do that in
Project Server. That is why I pointed you to the View resource assignments
page in PWA, which is the closest way to doing it within the default
features of Project Server.

You might be able to extract this data using a SQL Server query. Therefore,
I would recommend you post your question in the
microsoft.public.project.developer newsgroup and see if any of the
developers can help you with this need. Hope this helps.

Do you want a view of those who have not updated a particular task (or
tasks), or do you just want to know who has not updated any task at all
during a time period?

Either way would be fine....I would probably prefer the "not updated any task
at all during a time period though".

You could use managed time periods and give selected users, e.g.,
administrators or resource managers, permission to approve timesheets. The
Home page of such users would display the number of resources who had not
submitted a timesheet for previous periods. Clicking the message displays
details of the resources, and their assignments.

Managed time periods is a feature that brings a fair amount of process and
administrative baggage, and should not be used unless needed.
