Update Office 2003 SP1 Failed

After laboriously downloading SP1 on a dialup, I mistakenly
inserted original CD from Office XP Pro instead of Office
2003. Not sure what to do. When I click to open let's say,
Excel, it opens in Office XP Pro. The only reason I held
onto XP Pro was for FrontPage. Attempts to apply the SP1 to
Office 2003 fail.

Any advice would be appreciated.

You should review the KB article at
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;828956 about
maintaining a configuration with multiple versions of Office installed.
Your problem of files opening in Office XP is likely caused because you
inadvertently reinstalled Office XP. Performing a reinstall of Office 2003
should solve that problem (you can do that via Windows Add/Remove Programs -
select Office 2003 from the list and click on the 'change' link).

This reinstall may also solve your SP1 installation problem.
