Update Office 2003 to Office 2007 (network)

Is there a place to get information on how to upgrade from Office 2003 to
Office 2007? Before there was a way with an MSI to MST and then having the
office users update by clicking on a link and walking away.

Hi Matt,

The Office Resource Kit for Office 2007 is available at
http://microsoft.com/office/ork

The tools and architecture of Office 2007 used for deployment are different than in prior versions. Office uses multiple .MSI files
and customizations are now saved in MS Installer Patch files (.msp) rather than in MS Transform files (.MST).

The end result for user installs can be very similar.

Where can I download the Office Customization Tool, OCT.exe file? That is
the problem I am having. I need to know if I need to talk with my manager
about his MSDS license to download the Office Resource Kit for 2007 or
something.

Hi Matt,

The Office 2007 Customization Tool (OCT), unlike earlier Office version deployment tools isn't a separate download, it's built in to
setup.exe but requires a series of support files that are only included with volume license media editions of MS Office 2007.

The Office resource kit is on Technet rather than MSDN and is available as both an online version and a growing series of
downloadable 'books' (.doc files). from http://microsoft.com/office/ork

Hello Bob, thank you for your help. I did talk with my I.T. manager (my
boss) and he went to MSDS and downloaded a NETWORK Volume License File for
Office 2007 Pro. and I was able to run
\\OFFICE_LOCATION\setup.exe /admin
FINALLY opened up when I installed to the network share, the location of the
OCT poped up! FINALLy. I was so happy. I wanted to let you and others know
that the CD that my manager gave me must have been a NON Volume Site License,
but strangely the VSLicense we had worked to allow multiple users work on it.
I created the MST and in a minute I am going to test it.

Thank you!

Matthew Carter
