Update Office XP prof

When I attempt to update my Office2002XP prof with
recommended update SP1, I get:
"Error 1328, patch to file :\Config.Msi\PT133.tmp has
been updated by other means, can no longer be modified by
this patch - cancel install."
Ref page to solve the problem does not address this
matter. What to do? Is this update of vital importance?
The program seems to be fine as far as I can tell. Please
help.
