Update Parameter Query to change a Default Value in Database structure

Hi,

Is there a way to change the Default Value of number in a
linked datasheet by prompting the user for a value. The
value returned by the user will become the new default
value until it is changed again.

Example:
Tax rate defaults to 13.5% at the moment, but twice a
year it can change up or down to say 15%. 15% will now be
the new default value.

I want to keep the datasheet totally hidden from the user
and at the moment have to manually go to the sheet in
question and change the default value in design mode.

Help!!!!!
