update problem with zone alarm

Microsoft Update on the 8th July..if you can read this you have not got zone
alarm or have not downloaded this update
you may be able to help a friend who is having problems!

Out of interest, are you running ZoneAlarm? Because it seems that what is
happening is that ZoneAlarm is stopping access. The ZA forums say either
remove the MS update, or set Internet security to Medium, until ZoneLabs can
come up with a fix. In other words, is the fault with MS or ZA?

Your right ...was just trying to spread the word. PS does not effect Vista!

Hi Bob,

The MS update can affect Office as well as using Office Online resources through the Office apps including Templates, Help content
and error reporting, will be blocked in 'double stealth' mode (i.e. ZoneAlarm Free firewall on 'high' (Stealth) mode.

If you set ZoneAlarm Free's Firewall to Medium you can test the effectiveness of the firewall with the Medium setting via
http://grc.com in the 'Shield's up' tests.

A number of ISPs (especially it seems cable companies <g>) have been getting a lot of calls about 'not able to connect' to the
Internet.

Hi Peter,

With today's ZoneAlarm update installed, settings are back to 'High' and working

Interesting issue for folks who couldn't get online to find out why they couldn't get online. A number of ISPs had long waits in
the phone queues.
