Update project in other column

Hi everybody...
Please a need your help.

I need to update progress but in a different column, no in "% complete"
column.
How can I do that?

I can use 'Update project' option, but it updates in "% complete" column, I
need to update in a different column.

Please Help Me !!!!
It's very important.

Hi,
You can give permisions to modofy actual hours bu giving permissions for
user to modify actual hours. this is an alternate way to fill time sheet.

I need to update automatically my project like "Update Project" option, but
in 'another column'.

When I Update my project using "Update Project" option, it updates in "%
complete", I need to do the same, but in another column, so I need to update
my progress automatically in a column different of "% complete".

Carla,
What exactly are you trying to update? You mention "another column" but
don't give any further details. It is much easier for us to help you if
we know your end goal instead of a vague reference to a particular
method to achieve that goal.
