Okay, I see now. Trish, you go to the Office update site manually right, you check for
updates and you see:
Office 2007 Service Pack 1
Download the new service packs for your Office 2007 products.
a.. Office 2007 Service Pack 1
b.. Visio 2007 Service Pack 1
c.. Project 2007 Service Pack 1
More Office 2007 service packs
So it's not being offered by Automatic Updates.
Trish, you don't need it if you've installed it.
As for Vista updates, are you aware that Vista cannot use the Windows Update site?
The website has been replaced by Windows Update in Control Panel. If you want to check for
updates manually, follow these steps:
1. Open Windows Update by clicking the Start button, clicking All Programs, and then
clicking Windows Update.
2. In the left pane, click Check for updates.
You can either use Windows Upates or Microsoft Updates -

There are quite a few differences between Windows XP and Vista regarding obtaining
updates.

How to ask a question:

Computer Maintenance: Acronis / Diskeeper / Paragon / Raxco
| Hi TaurArian and Peter
|
| Thanks for your responses. Nothing else has been installed apart from MS
| Office Professional 2007 and I can clearly see under my list of installed
| updates is the "2007 Microsoft Office Suite Service Pack 1 (SP1)". When I go
| to Microsoft Office Online and click the Check for Updates link, it says I
| should download the new service pack for my Office 2007 products and there is
| a link to "Office 2007 Service Pack 1". It is 218 MB which takes a big chunk
| of my monthly download allowance.
|
| As a separate question, does Windows Update find updates for Vista and
| Microsoft Office or just Vista?
|
| Thanks again to you both.
