update resource calendar

What's the best way to update a resources's calendar -- I'm using Project
Server 2007 and Project Pro 2007?

Someone with the adequate perm's can open the resource in the ERP and update
the resources calendar.

A resource can enter time on vacation and other out of office activities in
the resources PWA Timesheet....but this requires that Timesheets be created.

Is there other ways to update a resource calendar? What's the best/easiest
way?

The only way to update a resource's calendar with nonworking time is to
check out the resource in the Enterprise Resource Pool and then manually
edit the calendar. Entering vacation in the PWA Timesheet does not update
the resource's calendar in the Enterprise Resource Pool. Hope this helps.

Are you actually using Project Server 2007? If so, what version? 2003 or
2007? And are you a Project Server administrator? Let us know.

Launch Project Professional 2007 and connect to Project Server with
administrator permissions. Click Tools - Enterprise Options - Open
Enterprise Resource Pool. The system will display the Resource Center from
PWA inside of Project Professional 2007. Select the option checkbox to the
left of the names of the resources for which you want to enter planned
vacation, and then click the Open button. When the system opens the
Enterprise Resource Pool with the checked out resources, double-click the
name of the first resource and then click the Change Working Time button.
Enter the planned vacation on the Exceptions tab for the resource. Do this
for each resource, then save and close the Enterprise Resource Pool. Hope
this helps.
