Update schedule of enterprise fields

I'm currently working on some custom enterprise fields.
My problem ist that I don't really know when changes in enterprise fields
are being propagated to projects. I tried saving, publishing and checking in
and out. I also changed the global.mpt and started a rebuild of the olap
cube. Without succes.
Eventually the changes are propagated but I don't if this just takes some
time or if it is triggered by a certain event.

To check this I usually edit enterprise field, reopen a project and take
look at the read only definition of enterprise fields in proj client.

I'm using Project Server 2007 and Project 2007, both patched with SP1.

help on this would be very appreciated.

Updating Ent Fields updates the Ent.Global.

After making these changes you need to close down Project Pro as the
Ent.Global is updated "only" when Project Pro starts.

In turn you need to republish each project to report on new fields/values in
Ent Fields.
