Update status for all projects

Eddy

Hi,

We have in excess of 90 live project schedules in Project Server
2003.

Is it possible to develop a report in PWA that will show me which
projects have been updated and which that have not.

Relatively easy, but it all depends on what your update methodology is.
Here's a rough recommendation that works for a number of folks:

Within Project Center, create a view using a couple of custom/built-in fields:

1) Last Published Date
2) Status Date - to see if users are setting this appropriately
3) Flag any tasks with unfinished work prior to the status date

With those three fields, and perhaps a couple more, you'll get a good feel
for how often the projects are getting updated, and which ones are out of
date.

Thanks Andrew, much appreciated.

I'm not sure I understand, "Flag any tasks with unfinished work prior
to the status date"

Best practice for many companies is to accept all actuals, set the status
date, then reschedule all remaining work until after the status date. In
that scenario, there really should be no unfinished work prior to the status
date set in the project. If a task is behind schedule, the remainder of
that task should be pushed out into the future.

You can develop a custom field which will flag any activities (or projects)
which are not using that methodology.

Thanks Andrew, it was the flag that confused me. I will attempt to
configure your recommendations.
