Update to meetings?

When we update a meeting we are forced to re-book a conference room or the conference room scheduling is lost. This is troublesome when wanting to send out info to a group that has already been invited to a meeting (re-occurring for example). Is there a way to keep the resource from needing to be re-booked, or is there a better way to send info to meeting attendees?
