Update won't recognized installed SW

I have the Gateway version of Office 2002 for Small Business on my PC. I purchased an upgrade to Standard Edition Office XP in order to get PowerPoint. When I attempt to install the upgrade, my PC displays a message saying that the installer can't find a qualifying product

I was once able to do this successfully, but my hard drive crashed. Gateway replaced the drive and reinstalled Office XP Small Business. Now I'm stuck trying to get PowerPoint back onto my PC

Any advice

Hi Steve,

Office XP (OEM only) Small Business edition to Office XP Professional
is a cross-grade (same series) and not supported by MS using an
upgrade package.

You may want to see if Gateway still has an option to swap out the
Small Business Edtion for the Office XP Professional+Publisher
edition, or you can use an Office 2003 upgrade edition and it
will recognize Office XP/2002.

If the upgrade worked previously there may have been an
Office 2000 family product installed on the PC at one time.
