Update work per day problem - Project 2007

Hello,

My resources update work per day and reminaing work.

I planed a 5 days task. 8 hours for each day.
At the first day, the resources update only 5 hours actual work.
Now, the other days gets automatically more than 8 hours, to complete the 40
hours at 5 days.
The Project create a situation that the resource has overallocation.

BTW. The task type is fixed work.

Any idea ?

This is normal behaviour of MS Project. The total amount of work is replanned
in the remaining period.

If you want no overallocation then the resource has to decrease the
remaining work by 3 hours, because only 5 hours have been spent on the task.

Hello.

Thanks but I don't think the MS-Project should create an overallocation.
It should change the duration. that's the way it worked at Project 2003.
