Update works for Windows, not for Office

Michael

Hello,

Updates (whether automatic or manual) work fine for my Windows XP
installation, but Update seems to forget that I have an Offfice installation
as well and does not download (or even show) updates for it. There is no
error message or anything like that.

This has already been the subject of a thread in the relevant Microsoft
Discussion Group (see
http://groups.google.com/group/microsoft.public.windowsupdate/browse_frm/thread/a3c172f886d082d2)
where I was referred to this group (by PA Bear, who I see is active here as
well).

What could be the reason for this behaviour and what can I do about it?

Thanks,
Michael

Hi Michael,

What version of MS Office are you using and was it a personal or company installation/deployment? The ability to autoupdate for
Office can be turned off by administrators.

If you go to MS Office update
http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/downloads/maincatalog.aspx
are any updates shown?
