After updating MS Office, Excel goes into setup mode when starting and then
asks for Office Professional disc to complete the setup. I don't have the
Professional discs, only small business, and it can't find DATAPRO1 file to
run. What do I do ? This is a laptop from work and I don't have access to the
original discs.

Hi Red,

Check in Add/Remove Programs in the Windows control
to see what edition of MS Office was used to install
on your PC. If it's the Professional edition then
you can either contact the installer/PC supplier for
the matching CD or backup your documents and files,
uninstall the current edition, restart the PC and install
from the CD you do have.

The MS Installer will ask for a product CD that matches
what was used for installing. Some PC suppliers use
'disk imaging' incorrectly (i.e. not matching versions
to what is purchased).

In this case, as this is a work PC you'll likely not
want to replace their installation of MS Office Professional
from a Select program (multilicense) product CD with one
of your own, Small Business Edition, unless its now your PC.
