Updated appointments getting deleted

I have a user on windows xp sp2 and office 2003. When she creates an
appointment and invites others, it shows up in her calendar like normal. If
she changes the time or other parameter of the meeting/appointment and sends
out the update, it self deletes from her calendar. There are no rules, and
she is not synchronizing with any hand held device.
