Hello guys,
I have created a data analysis that gives a report of the timesheets that
has been submitted using the EPM Timesheet cube.

However, the first time I created the view it had the timesheet information
of the users. But when i added new users and they submitted their own
timesheet the view doesn't update itself with the time information of the new
users.

Also how can i created a report of the Administrative time used by users.

Thank you.

Was the view you are talking about created in Server Settings>Manage Views
or did you create a linked Excel view? The latter would have to be
refreshed.

Also, verify that the Analysis Cube has been re-built since the last time
you had new users submit timesheets. It should be set to re-build each
evening.

Lastly, verify that all fields you have in the view have the "Select All"
option and not filtered down to only a select set of values.

Hi thanks for your response,

1)i created the view using Server Settings>Manage view

2)Now in my Builds settings i configured it to update every 1 hr, however in
the build status i get an error message which says "Can't overwrite an olap
database created outside of Project Server or by another Project Server site"

3)All the fields have the "Select All" box ticked.

I don't know but 'am i doing something wrong?

You answered your questions in item 2. The cube is no longer building
successfully and the data you see in the view is only as current as the last
time the cube built successfully. The error message you see is caused by
someone trying to manually modify the database cube definitions maybe using
Visual Studio, or at least that is how I have seen that error message occur
in the past.

The only solution I have found to fix this error is to stipulate a new name
for the analysis services database and re-build your Data Analysis views
based on this new database name.

1) Go to Server Settings>Build Settings
2) Change the database name in "Analysis Services Database to be created:"
(hint: you can append the name with a number)
3) Re-build the cube and verify it built successfully
4) Open each of your data analysis views and change the analysis services
database source from the old name to the new name from the dropdown field.
5) Click Apply
6) Verify the view still looks like you want it to and save the view

Thanks jonathan did exactly has u instructed. Working well now. About my
question how do i populate administrative time in a data analysis why is it
that non-working time such as sick or vacation is counted as billable hours,
i need some understanding of that.

thanks

I'm assuming you are using the "Timesheet" cube?

That is a good question and I don't have an answer for you other than it
wasn't designed well. The only way to separate the non-working time from
counting against the billable hours is to break it out by "Timesheet Project
List" where all the non-working time will show up under Administrative.
