updated from 04 to 08 office now weird entourage issue.

when i send an email to someone. They will recieve it from me as example: From: Bluehaze<[email protected]> and To: whomever <[email protected]>.

If they reply on that same email. I will recieve From: whomever <[email protected]> To: xx <[email protected]>

Somehow when they reply.. it changes the name bluehaze to XX. It should still say To: Bluehaze <[email protected]> . That is my question. what is making it do that? Where do i start to try to figure that out?

During the install of 2008 office. at the end where it says to remove 2004 i chose not to..as i did not know if it would erase entourage and all emails within it.

I started 08 and email was transfered over. So then i went to the 04 folder and clickon on more tools and clicked on remove office 04. It then only ask me to remove the preference folder to trash and that was that. I just deleted the 04 icons from the Dock.

May not pertain to it..but just making sure you have all the information.

If someone just send me an email. under to To: it will just show my name of Bluehaze.

I really hope that explanation made sense.

That field is set by the sending client - they must have your name set
in their address book as 'XX".

As you can see from that header.. the TO section is correct. However when it is being displayed on my screen it shows..

Here is a copy of the actual email with what is showing on the TO: line when i recieve from that person. This is happening to all users who make a reply to my emails. Not just this particular one..this was a test to see if it can be replicated.

I wonder if they have changed the behaviour...

What have you got in _your_ address book as the display name for that
person? Is it 'x x'?

If so, they must have changed the behaviour so that entourage picks up
_your_ display name, rather than using the sent on.

This sounds like the new feature introduced in SP1 that uses names as
they appear in the Address Book or Contacts list as the display names
within messages.
