updated Task description doesn't synchronize w/Project Web Access

We have discovered that when updating a Task's description and republishing
to Web Access (via any publishing method) that the changed Task description
is not reflected in Project Web Access (neither Project Center or View My
Tasks).

opinions welcomed and thank you in advance

What version are you using?

By "Task description" do you mean Task Name or some other field?

Did you try Collaborate > Publish > Republish Assignments, AND then close
the project before checking for results in PWA?

Jay:

The republish feature works as Reid stated. By default, Project considers
only date changes, outline changes and % complete changes as "new and
changed assignments." If you're using Project and Project Server 2003, you
can change this behavior by launching project and going to tools > Options >
Collaborate tab and check the radio button that says "Any task information
changes."

Yes, Task Name.

I believe the appropriate "next step" is to test the suggestion posted by
Gary in this thread (thank you, Gary):
launch project and go to tools > Options > Collaborate tab and check the
radio button that says "Any task information changes."

I will follow-up on your suggestion by testing this scenario. I would
prefer to wait until next week to test this as the PM who experienced this
scenario is out of the office for the remainder of the week.

We ran some tests and have concluded that the only way to synchronize Task
Name description changes is to publish via "Project Plan" method. Below is a
summary of our tests:

-Tools>Options>Collaborate
-selected "Any task information changes" (OK)
-added prefix ("XYZ") to Task Name; saved plan
-published via "New and Changed Assignments"
-updated Task Name did NOT appear in PWA's Project Center

-published via "Project Plan"
-updated Task Name DID appear in PWA's Project Center
-reset Tools>Options>Collaborate radio button to "Start, Finish, % Complete
or outline changes
