updated web files modified by UNKNOWN?

Brad Morris

Hi,
when I upload changes from FP2002 I will occasionally get the error

The file (file name) in web (web name) has been modified on (date) time by
'(Unknown)'. Are you sure you want to replace it?

I am the only one to change files. How do I make it know that I am the
author and changer of any files? I have looked all over the menus in FP2002
and can't seem to find a place to put my name as the author.

thanks

There are 3 things that will cause this.
1. You updated the web using a different
computer at a different location, which changes
the "author" to the user name of the "other" machine
2. You opened and edited the web live, or the local
web and then published when you had logged on to your
machine under a different user account, which also will
change the "author" name.
3. A form results page or hit counter .cnt page has
been updated by the server since your last publish.
( not normal but it can happen )

If none of the above apply, I strongly urge you to change
your servers' password.
