Updatedll.dll problem word 97

After setup office 97 pro, cannot launch MS Word 2 messages box:

A. "windows cannot run this program because it is in an invalid format"

B. "the C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEMS\UDATEDLL.DLL file appears to be corrupt"

win 98.
