I've created an administrative share of office 2k and
applied the updates to the share (two service packs Sp1 &
Sp3, and the hotfixes) by using the command lines below.
msiexec /a <path>\data1.msi /p <path>\data1.msp
SHORTFILENAMES=TRUE /qb
msiexec /a <path>\data1.msi /p <path>\mainsp3.msp
SHORTFILENAMES=1
msiexec /a <path>\data1.msi /p <path>\SNAPVIEWop.msp
SHORTFILENAMES=1
msiexec /a <path>\data1.msi /p <path>\WINWORDop.msp
SHORTFILENAMES=1
msiexec /a <path>\data1.msi /p <path>\EXCELop.msp
SHORTFILENAMES=1
msiexec /a <path>\data1.msi /p <path>\VBE6op.msp
SHORTFILENAMES=1
msiexec /a <path>\data1.msi /p <path>\OMIop.msp
SHORTFILENAMES=1
msiexec /a <path>\data1.msi /p <path>\olk0901.msp
SHORTFILENAMES=1
Everything appears to work fine. After I install office
successfully, when I go to 'Windows Update -> Office
update' it says SP3 needs applied :
"You need the administrative version of this update due to
previously installed administrative updates."
Even though I have applied the administrative update of
SP3.
Does anyone know why?
