Updates Continue Failing

I keep getting notified of updates, but the updates won't install. If I don't
install them I continue to be notified. Cannot the latest updates be patched
so that they'll work? Does the system have to continue to notify for failed
updates?

(The corporate version of Office I have is installed on two separate
machines (legally). Neither machine will accept the updates.

Thanks for any tips.

Is it the junk mail filter update for Outlook (April); it has failed on
every machine I know so far. I was able to fix it by uninstalling Office,
and reinstalling it, then going to Office Update and installing all updates
again. But this is obviously a problem with the updates.
