My Office 2003, after typing as few as 10 characters, initiates a window
saying that the program encountered a problem and must be shut down. It then
attempts to save the work done, but before it finishes, another Problem
Encountered message pops up. The only way to stop it is to hit the X square
at just the right time (measured within momments!), or do a hard shut down of
the computer from the main surge protector power source (Ctrl-Alt-Delete and
Start menu shut down attempts all fail, as does using the power button on the
computer itself). Some of my locals tell me they believe an update within
the past 2-4 weeks may be the cause, as they are hearing similar stories.
Does anyone have any insight on this? I do keep my Live Update on auto.
