Updates looks for 2000 instead of 2003 since I upgraded

I recently added Office 2003 over Office 2000 and now when I go to updates,
it looks for updates for 2000 instead of 2003.

Check in Add/Remove Programs in the Windows control panel to see if you still have 2000 series apps installed. The 2003 upgrade
only removes matching program versions. Office 2000 had more programs in some of the editions.

I have 2000 Professional and it is still on the Add/Remove Programs. I
installed Office 2003 Basic Edition. Do I need to Remove the Office 2000
Program?

Your choice. If you leave it installed, you should do the updates.
Go to All Programs, Microsoft Office. You should see a list of all Office
programs installed. Check, the 2000 programs on the list. If you do not
need any of them, you can remove Office 2000 from Add/Remove. If there are
some you still want, you can use Add/Remove Programs to uninstall those you
do not want.
