Powerpoint 2004 has a new feature called Presenter Tools. This allows a
presenter to show their slides on an external display while viewing
notes, slides, etc on their laptop display. On the first version of
2004 (no updates installed), it worked perfectly fine with videos. When
you got to a slide with a video it would display as it should on the
external display and then show up on the presenters display within the
small window allocated.
The problem is one of the Office updates broke the display of videos.
With all of the updates installed, when you get to a slide with a
video, it "takes over" the presenters display and you can no longer see
presentation notes and other parts of the screen. I've verified this on
3 different computers (all running the latest version of Tiger). I just
did a test: Installed Office with no updates and it worked fine. I then
installed the first update available (11.2.5) and it broke the
Presenter Tools. Updating to the latest version (11.2.6) did not help.
You can also see this problem even if your computer is not hooked to a
second display. Is there a fix for this problem? Thanks.
