You can't. You can only have one version of Outlook installed on your system
at a time.

so just save everything to a .pst file then load them in the new outlook

The last time I upgraded a 2003 installation to 2007, it went without a
hitch. - it wasnt neccessary to either uninstall any of 2003 nor reconnect
2007 to the data.

You will not need to do anything. Office/Outlook 2007 should find and
re-use your .pst file just fine.. However, you will most likely need to
create a new mail profile.

Two points. As you use a POP account, your email is already in a pst file -
no need to create a new one, just make a copy of it for safety's sake.

Secondly, even if you uninstall Office 2003 and then install Office 2007,
Outlook should automatically find your account settings and the existing pst
file. You shouldn't have to do anything at all..
