upgrade from 2003 to 2007

Hello,
I have a question about upgrading from 2003 to 2007.
For upgrading on the same server, I am a little confused on what to do with
SQL.
I understand that the server will be running project 2003 and 2007 on the
server when complete.
But what happens with SQL?
I am starting with SQL 2000. And will need to go to SQL 2005.
Will both SQL 2000 and 2005 be on the server at the same time?
Should SQL 2005 over write SQL 2000?
thanks

You should treat the SQL upgrade as a separate task/project from the
Project Server upgrade. Both versions of Project Server (2003 and
2007) will work with either version of SQL (2000 or 2005). If you have
a database team, work with them on the SQL upgrade.

Thanks James ,
When do you usually do the upgrade? First thing? later?

With respect you're heading for disaster if you don't get some help.

Generally the configuration effort will be the same no matter what you
do, Particularly the configuration for OLAP / Analysis Services
functionality will be some work with either version of Project Server
and SQL 2005, so I don't think the order changes much.
