Upgrade from Access 2002 to 2003 problem

Background:
Server 2003 environment; Databases created in Access 2002 are split. On a
couple of databases the frontend is on the local machine. On other
databases the frontend is not on the local machines but is accessed via a
webpage and is downloaded to the local machine (it’s a long story). Users
do not have local admin privileges. I do not have network admin privileges,
but only local machine admin privileges. Everything works fine.

IT staff installs Office 2003. Users now cannot enter data on their local
machines. I can continue to enter data on my own machine and when I log on
to other users machines. In an experiment the IT staff took away my local
admin privilege. I then could not enter any data on my own machine or any
else’s machine. I get my local admin privileges back and can enter data.

Any thoughts re what the problem is and how this can be fixed? Thanks in
advance.

All users require RWXD (Read, Write, eXecute, Delete) permissions on the
folder where the back end MDB file exists or the MDB file will be read-only,
regardless of what permissions they have on the file itself.

Thank you for the response. I believe that is already the case as users
were able to enter/save the data. The "cant enter data" was literally
immediate after the 2003 install. Could there be something else? Thank you.

Sorry, but I'm unaware of any change in Access 2003 that would cause this
change of behaviour.
