Upgrade from bundled Office Test Drive

My father-in-law has an iMac he purchased last year. The 30-day Office Test
Drive has long expired and he's now contemplating purchasing Office 2004.

It appears that one must have _licenced_ version of an Office app in order
to _upgrade_ vice install a full-up version. I also note that he'll need to
remove the Test Drive folder prior to install of the new software.

He's looking to me for some assistance and I'm thinking that he'll need to
purchase the full-up version. Any thoughts and/or advice would be much
appreciated.

Hi Will -

If he has never had a licensed full version of Office then, yes, he will
have to purchase same outright. If he has a licensed prior verson he
_should_ be eligible for an upgrade.

Also, just so you are clear on it - *before* installing the full version the
Test Drive must be uninstalled using the Remove Office utility in the Test
Drive folder. Just dragging the Test Drive folder to the trash is *not*
sufficient. It is also recommended that the Trash be emptied and that you
either log out/in or restart after the removal. If the Test Drive is not
removed properly the full version/upgrade will not operate correctly once
installed. Full instructions for removal can be found at the bottom of this
page;
