Upgrade from Entourage v.X to 2004

About 6 months ago we purchased Office v.X for Mac. Just recently Office
2004 for Mac was released and we received a free upgrade. I just installed
the new version and now I can't get our Exchange server to synchronize. My
Hotmail account and my Exchange account both came over fine with the
install, however I'm not getting the option to turn down the Exchange
account so that I can see my folders and Inbox. My Hotmail account is fine.
None of the settings have been changed with the Exchange account. From
what I can tell everything looks exactly like it did before the upgrade.

Steps already taken
1. Rebuilt the database.
2. Double checked all of the account settings and reset synchroization.
3. Multiple send and receive.
4. I get a message everytime I start Entourage that states "Entourage is now
synchronizing in the background with your Exchange account: Adam Brown.
Synchronization time varies depending on the amount of data you are
synchronizing and the speed of your connection." Before I click OK it states
next to the account that it's (not connected). After I hit OK it lists the
account in the folder view only it doesn't allow me to turn it down.

Any help you can provide would be great.
Thanks.

Hi,

Which account you had created earlier? Is it IMAP or Exchange account?

Entourage 10.1.4 gives an Extra where you can configure Exchange account?

Try deleting Entourage Preferences and Check.

Follow following steps for the same.

1. Quit Entourage if it is still running.

2. Go to the [OS 10 hard drive]:Users:[Your User
name]:Library:preferences:Microsoft folder, move the following files to
Desktop.

Carbon Registration Database

Entourage Preferences

Entourage Settings (10)

3. Drag the com.Microsoft.Entourage.plist from the folder "[OS 10 hard
drive]:users:[Your user name]:Library:preferences" to the desktop.

Still if you have a issue try deleting the Existing account and
reconfiguring the Exchange account.

Hopefully it should resolve your issue.

What version of Exchange is your server running? Entourage X used IMAP,
whereas Entourage 2004 uses WebDAV. Older Exchange servers might support one
but not the other, but this can be fixed by setting up an IMAP account
rather than an Exchange account.

I should add that it's not necessarily just about the version of your
Exchange server (although that's a good starting point). A perfectly new
Exchange server could have necessary services, like OWA, turned off.
Information about Entourage's Exchange requirements can be found at
