Upgrade from OEM trial

I had to reinstall Vista on this Lenovo 3000 N100. It had an OEM trial
version of Office installed and I purchased an upgrade to Office Small
Business 2007. I also purchased a digital lock box for the license key. When
I tried to reinstall Office, I had no copy of the trial version, so I
downloaded it from the trymicrosoftoffice site. The conversion key generates
an error saying it is invalid. After paying $50 to Microsoft support, they
told me I had to upgrade from an OEM trial version. I contacted Lenovo who
says they can't help me and to contact Microsoft. So here I am in the dreaded
deadly embrace. No one can help me. I'm ready to convert this and all my
other corporate machines to Open Office. This is a ridiculous way to run a
business.

The problem being that the full implications a trial edition are not
elaberated upon by either MS or OEM supliers
IMO Its allways better to purchase a retail cd version from a third party.
I would have thought Lenove supplied various cd's to put your Laptop back to
factory supplied condition, ie including any trial versions
