No, all you need to do is to "show" the Office XP installation the CD with
Office 2000 on it when XP asks to verify your qualifying product. Then take
the 2000 CD out, put back in the XP CD and continue the installation.

| I won't be able to uninstall Office 2000 first, although
| that would be the most desirable thing to do - this is an
| upgrade version, and I need Office 2000 on my system in
| order to be eligible for the upgrade ... right??

|| Yes Tim, During installation choose "Custom" at the setup
|| options, and you can choose the destination of the Office
|| installation from there.
||
|| I recommend you uninstall the Office 2000 off first, to
|| avoid any conflicts.

||| I currently have Office 2000 installed on a laptop with a
||| partitioned hard drive. The Office products are installed
||| on the Windows partition, which is not where I want them.
|||
||| I'm planning on upgrading to Office XP SE shortly. During
||| that installation, will I have the option to install to a
||| different hard drive/directory, or will the install
||| process install over existing software where it currently
||| resides?
|||
||| Or do I have to reinstall Office 2000 in the directories
||| where I want it to reside before I install Office XP?
|||
||| Thanks,
