upgrade from office 2000 to 2003?

I recently purchased a new Dell w/Win XP. I was running Office 2000
Professional on my old Gateway (Win '98) and am being told that I need to
purchase Office 2003 as I should not load 2000 on the new system. My problem
is that I am not a heavy user. I use Word, Excel, some PowerPoint and
Publishing -- Publishing and Word the most. Is there a reason why I should
not load 2000 to this new machine and upgrade sometime in the future? Any
advice would be appreciated...thx

If Office 2000 meets your needs then install it and make sure you have all
updates for Office 2000.
