Upgrade from Outlook 2002 to 2007? include Access?

I am getting Microsoft Windows Errors saying the problem was caused by
Microsoft Office Outlook 2002, in its "extended support" phase. I would like
to upgrade but am unsure what will happen to all my stuff. I have Outlook,
Excel, Access, Word and wonder if I should upgrade all at the same time. As I
look at the choices, I don't find Access listed in the basic home 2007
packages. I have a 900+ address base in Access. Will my Access stay put if I
just upgrade Outlook? I'm not unhappy with anything, but keep ignoring the
increasingly scary sounding error messages about Outlook 2002. Thanks!

In what version of win are you getting this msg, Vista maybe?
If it is Vista you should be aware MS doesnt support or has tested OfficeXp,
on Vista and as such their 'maybe' problems with all components

Other than that you can upgrade with a version that doesnt include Access,
and your earlier version component will remain
Also, is it not possible to import your address list into OL Contacts?

A new installation of Outlook is not an upgrade. It is a completely new
installation. Your personal file is always separate and will not be harmed.
Just use File, Open OL Date file on the Outlook menu if OL 2007 doesn't find
it automatically. Do not use Import or overwrite your outlook.pst file. The
new Outlook will not be able to use the old Access or any old office program
such as Word. Make sure you have the whole database in your Contacts in
Outlook.
Re that scary message--ignore it. It is just saying that you are using a
very old version and MS wants you to upgrade. To get Access 2007 you will
have to upgrade to a Professional version of Office--a very expensive option.

I have Windows XP. Glad to know that Access will stay the same if I upgrade
to 2007 which doesn't include Access! Thanks so very much!!

Thanks so much! I'll try getting just Outlook 2007 if that's possible. Your
nitty gritty about how to go from 2002 to 2007 is very helpful.
