Upgrade from student edition

Greg

Can I update to Office XP Pro 2003 *from* Office XP 2003
Student Edition?

Please note that the student edition was written over
(installed after) Office 2000 SBE, if that matters?

Really all I want is Access, can I get it back from
Office 2000 SBE? I don't see it anymore.

Student and Teacher Editions are not upgradable. Office 2000 SBE did not
have Access. However, you could purchase an upgrade version of Office 2003
Pro and use the 2000 SBE for the upgrade eligibility.

There is no such thing as "Office XP Pro 2003" - you are mixing your
versions. What are you running Office XP or Office 2003?

No. Not only can you not use products of the same line as QP, but the STE
edition has /never/ qualified for an upgrade.

However, regardless of the above, if the 2000 SBE was retail, and you still
have the media, then it may be used as a qualifier for the upgrade.

It was, most likely, removed when you installed 2003. You will need to
install it again from the original media. If you no longer have the original
media, then you're stuck!

I upgraded Office XP Pro AE to MS Office 2003 Pro with not problem. Is there
a difference?

Yes, the Academic Office comes in all Editions. Office Standard for
Students and Teachers is a newer line introduced last Office version (XP)
and does not qualify as a QP for upgrades. The licenses are entirely
different.

Good catch Milly! I am a complete idiot today!

I'll just go and sit quietly in the corner now, shall I...? Yes, that's what
I'll do...
