upgrade installation from Outlook 2002 to 2003 - RPC problems

Hi,

I installed Office 2003 as upgrade over Office XP. Now OL won't
connect to the Exchange Server (which is a 2000). I connect through a
VPN connection. It says that something with the RPC configuration is
wrong. Has anybody any ideas? It worked before the upgrade...

Besides, every time I start OL (in offline mode), the installer dialog
pops up two times briefly (no user interaction necessary). A minor
annoyance, but it doesn't look right.
