Upgrade office 202 to 2003

If I want to upgrade from Office 2002 to Office 2003, will the 2002 pst file
in Outlook 2002 be converted to the new pst format in Outlook 2003 ?

No
Once running, create a new 2003 format data file (Outlook File menu)
Then copy, were required, data from the old to the new. Then set the new as
the default msg store

No. You must do that yourself by creating a new PST file then copying the
data you want from the old to the new. More detail here, except that the
import/export method is no longer recommended:
