Upgrade qualifying cd (Office 2003)

Andrew Chapman

I am planning to upgrade several computers to Office 2003
(using the Upgrade Version). Some of the computers have
OfficeXP installed with the same product keys. (previous
IT guy wasn't very clued up on licensing!!)

I have many copies of the Office97 cd and would like to
use them as qualifying media.

Does the qualifying media purely check the cd/install for
a legitimate Version, or will it go as far as checking the
product keys on the XP installations??

Thanks for your help,

Andrew

It will check the CD to see if the version is the correct version for
upgrade, that is all.t

After searching google.groups.com and finding no answer:

X

xfile

But that's just for installation and not for activation. So get volume
license for that matters.
