Upgrade Std 2007 to Small Business 2007

Looking at the cost to add BCM and Publisher to my existing Std 2007
installation, I decided to bite the bullet and buy a Small Business 2007
upgrade.

Can I install the Small Business over the Std? I've changed the location of
my pst and I don't want to lose any data or settings.

Standard to Small Business is not an upgrade but a crossgrade installation.
Unless you have another qualifying product, your upgrade version of SBE will
not install.

Hi Don,

MS Office 2007 does support crossgrade (move up within same product series) moves. As with any significant upgrade, back up your
data before proceeding and use the custom installation choice to pick exactly what you do or do not want to upgrade.

The Business Contact Manager is still a separate install from MS Office Outlook.

Actually cross-grades are now a qualifying product. The OP will have to keep
Standard installed if she buys the upgrade version

"Microsoft Works 6.0-10; Microsoft Works suite 2000-2006 or later; any
2000-2007 Microsoft Office program or suite; any Microsoft Office XP suite
except Office XP Student and Teacher"

(This is the first time they've considered crossgrade suites an upgrade,
isn't it?)

Hi JoAnn,

Office 2007 is the first time that crossgrades in Office have officially been listed as supported. The qualifying product would
normally no longer be used once upgraded.

I have a number of previous versios. It's not the qualifying that I'm
concerned with. My concern is how paranoid I need to be about Outlook data
and settings and whether I should uninstall std before installing SB.
