Upgrade to 2003 Help!!

Have exchange server, recently upgraded clients to Outlook 2003, checked the
exchange cache mode box,
and found a problem. The OST file created is almost 2 GB, user was unable
to receive any mail until I disabled cache mode. Does this have something
to do with moving from Outlook 2002 to 2003? How can I resolve the problem?
