I just got conflicting information on what is required to upgrade to
Office 2001. I was told by a woman on the phone at Microsoft that it
requires a prior version of Office. I read to her the requirements
listed on Mactopia: any previous Mac or Windows version of Office,
Word, Excel, Powerpoint, or Microsoft Works Macintosh Edition (version
4.5 or later). She said not true, I need an earlier version of Office.
I have several licensed pieces of software that fall within what the
site says, the most recent of which is Word 2001 + Entourage 2001
Special Edition. Which is correct?
Also, the info on the site regarding requirements for Office v.X is a
little confusing, in that it says in bold, Office 2001 for Mac, then
lists underneath that Word 2001 for Mac, Excel 2001 for Mac,
PowerPoint 2001 for Mac, Word 2001 + Entourage 2001 Special Edition.
Is it possible that only the latter qualifies me for an upgrade to
v.X?
