upgrade to office 2007 = problem w/outlook express mail

I'm using outlook express for my mail program but am experiencing problems
accessing mail links since I upgraded my office 2003 to office 2007. When I
click on an email link online which automatically opens a wizard for Outlook
2007 set up. This set up asks me to set up an email account - and I don't
really want to - I'd like to keep my current program. The wizard tells me
that if I don't set up a new email account I will be unable to use email. I'm
concerned about messing with my existing email program which is working well.
Since I don't use the other elements of Outlook is there a way to bypass this
set up wizard and still be able to access mail links online through my
outlook express? If I do set up an email account in outlook via the wizard,
what do I have to do to make my outlook express email system viable?--

You will need to change the default email client to Outlook Express. To
do this, Launch internet Explorer and Select Tools from the Menu bar,
then Internet Options

One of the tabs should now be Programs. Click on it and see if you can
find an item called Email: this is the second item after HTML editor.
change you program to Outlook Express and then click OK. Close the
browser and now test it if it has changed.

Let us know if this worked for other users.

Two things to consider
a) If you don't use Outlook, un-install it.
b) If you set Outlook Express as default email client, but you use Outlook
for calendar etc, then every Outlook update you install will reset Outlook
as default.

If you have Outlook, why not use it? (Presumably you paid for it.....)
