Upgrade to Project Server Service Pack 2

I know you may find it hard to believe, but I have not upgraded my project
server to any service pack (yet).

Is it possible to go from a vanilla project server install right to Service
Pack 2a OR do you need to go to Service Pack 1 first?

Also - my project server views notification services is recently starting to
"hang". The only way to resolve it is to STOP the service and START it again.
I've noticed that the memory allocated to this service is rather high. Would
a server reboot resolve this memory issue?

Any help would be greatly appreciated...

I went straight to SP2 and then to SP2a.

The high memory usage of the notification service is covered in a KB article
that says to restart the service. Obviously an unresolved bug.
